⟵ Stanley Studio

Stanley Studio is a small multi-faceted design practice incorporating architecture and artisanal craft, with Austin roots since 1984. Our studio and shop, located on a two-acre wooded property in central east Austin, affords us an opportunity to co-mingle our interests and aims while building out design investigations and demonstrations. As design practitioners, we carry a deep appreciation for the human and natural context of a project, coupled with a passion for and dedication to building craft and detail. We start with close listening to the stated needs of the Client as well as to the wider array of conditions surrounding the formation of a project. We engage in analysis – goal-setting, planning, programming, budget, and site evaluation – before embarking on the synthesis of creative design solutions, together with the Client, that are unique and responsive. Committed to uncovering deep sustainability, low-embodied carbon strategies, resource efficiencies, and a connection to the land, we strive above all for comfort, health, and beauty in our work.
