50 Seasons of Armadillo Christmas Bazaar
1976
1982
1976:
Armadillo Christmas Bazaar opens for one weekend at the Armadillo World Headquarters in an attempt to keep the concert hall financially afloat as well as provide a warm indoor sales environment for artists selling outside at the Drag across from the University of Texas on Guadalupe. With a 50 cents cover charge and open mike musical entertainment, it was such a success, another weekend was added.
1982:
Armadillo Christmas Bazaar takes an empty Tom Thumb Grocery store at Cherry Creek Plaza and turns it into a 12 day show after a successful first run at this venue in 1981. The show featured local artists and nightly music as well as weekday matinee entertainment featuring music, dancing, sword swallowing, magic & of course, the unexpected.
