Day of Rest

Fishing is an integral part of Ghanaian culture and the economy. But on Tuesdays, fishing typically ceases across the country and fisherman avoid the water. The tradition dates back centuries, allowing the sea goddess a day of rest. The practice is an attempt to protect the region from overfishing.
