Location

Please join us at noon on Monday, June 22 for the AIA Austin CodeNEXT Advocacy Roundtable.  The CodeNEXT approach that was adopted by City Council last December indicated that form-based codes will play a major role in the new Land Development Code.  For this month's roundtable we have invited Christine Freundl, from the City of Austin, to give a presentation illustrating the principles of form-based codes and how they differ from our current use-based model.  We hope that this roundtable will better prepare our membership to participate in the City's CodeNEXT Design Charrette scheduled for this fall.  This is also a great opportunity for you to share any CodeNEXT initiatives that you are working on-- please send reports and volunteer opportunities to davidcarroll@huoarchitects.com so we can help you get the word out.

Every month, our Liaisons to the City of Austin will meet with members in a relaxed environment to update AIA Austin members on issues related to codes, ordinances, planning issues, etc. Topics will rotate on a monthly basis between Residential, Commercial, and CodeNEXT.

Members only event. Bring your lunch & catch up!
