Urban Triage—Resilience and Equity in the Urban Landscape

The fifth out of five Design Talks for 2020 will be a talk by Daniel Woodroffe, ASLA.

From the scale of a single parking space to an entire city block this presentation explores a series of urban interventions that express the city’s propensity for rapid change within an increasingly innovative and responsive urban landscape. This presentation explores the paradigm shift in the American City towards a more anthropocentric environment that express the role and importance of social equity and environmental and economic resilience. Three case studies will be covered; Tactical urbanism – enhancing the quality of the urban landscape Reclaiming space – transforming underperforming assets for social change Functional Green – the performative landscape and new paradigms for the urban landscape

Originally planned at Austin Central Library, this event will now be taking place virtually as a Zoom webinar. This Design Talk offers 1 LU/HSW of continuing education credit for registered attendees (sign-in required).

Tickets are $10 for AIA members, AIA Austin Allied Members, and ASLA members, $20 for non-members. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. All sales final. See our complete cancellation policy here.
