Architecture, Not Architecture
For over two decades, John Friedman, FAIA, and Alice Kimm, FAIA, from John Friedman Alice Kimm Architects (JFAK) in Los Angeles, along with a team of passionate and talented designers, have created environments that strengthen communities and bring joy and inspiration to individuals. Their transparent and inclusive architecture, springing from a collaborative and creative design process, responds to context and celebrates the complexities and idiosyncrasies found therein. Now, in the context of preparing for the publication of their first book titled Architecture, Not Architecture (Actar, Spring 2022), John and Alice look forward to an open dialogue that mines the possibilities of architectural practice in today’s socially, politically, and environmentally charged world. How can architecture illuminate and solve problems? How can it engage? How can it have impact both big and small?
This event is free and open to the public, or offers CE credit with a paid ticket. 1 LU/HSW
