Reflections on Culture and Place
Tatiana Bilbao, Juan Miró, Miguel Rivera
Cities are complex human creations that embody the values and aspirations of the societies that build them. They are also the place of coexistence, where a society implements specific relationships among its citizens and its spaces. In American cities, the legacy of segregationist policies of the past and a value-driven real estate market continue to shape most urban environments to this day. Amidst a pandemic, racial and gender inequalities and political tensions, more than ever, we must reinvigorate our commitment to foster a democratic an inclusive coexistence in our society. Our open conversation will focus on the relevance of public space and cultural institutions to help imagine better futures for our cities.
This event is free and open to the public, or offers CE credit with a paid ticket. 1 LU/HSW
