A Great Marshmallow Challenge
Using the materials listed here, your goal is to make the tallest structure you can that holds up a marshmallow on the top all by itself. You can use all of the materials, but you don’t have to. Keep in mind that your first idea isn’t always your best idea! Try to start with with a simple idea that works and see how you can add to it as you go.
Materials:
- 20 sticks of uncooked spaghetti
- 3 ft of tape
- 3 ft of string
- 1 marshmallow
- (optional) safety scissors
Step 1: Start your structure on a flat surface like a table top for stability. You can cut or break up the spaghetti, tape, and string anyway you want.
Step 2: Don’t eat the marshmallow!
Step 3: If you can, team up with someone and talk about your ideas as you build. Your ideas will grow as you work together!
